Through our team effort (me, you, and your best friends too), we will be able to highlight business success, academic progress, real estate developments, employment opportunities, tech transformations, and everything that makes our community work.

This is NEEDED. The time is now to make a difference that can impact the next generation and beyond.

But before I go any further, let me quickly introduce myself.

I'm Charlene. I was born and raised in Englewood -- a community that is consistently ranked as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago.

I attended Whitney Young Magnet High School, studied Accounting & Finance at DePaul University, and started adulting at top accounting and financial service firms.

In every space I occupied, there were people who lacked optimism and hope in the potential of Chicago's South Side. I've always wanted to change that but I knew I couldn't do it alone.

So I became a blogger and journalist, exposing the success of others so that more people could see what's possible. I even traveled to over 20 countries and interviewed people who were doing simple things extraordinarily well.

Then, it hit me. The success of Chicago's South Side is dependent on the constant representation of what's possible and the allocation of the resources that can get us to the finish line. That's the secret formula that has helped other communities thrive.

That's why I'm going behind the scenes and digging into the stories that move our community, inspire our community, and build our community.
