The story continues. Chicago millionaire and former mayoral candidate Willie Wilson announced plans for a second gas giveaway. This time he's increasing his donation to $1 million.
Drivers will get a chance to have $50 worth of gas pumped for free at select locations. Gas will be disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis until the $1 million is exhausted.
“I am confident that with God’s help and wisdom we will get through these tough times together," Wilson said in a statement released on social media on Friday. This is our second gas giveaway in one week. The need is great, and I want to help. If I can help somebody as I pass along this way, then my living is not in vain.”

Willie Wilson is the founder of Omar Medical Supplies, a multi-million dollar company that imports latex gloves, safety supplies, and other medical equipment.
His company has donated thousands of masks to hospitals, community organizations, Cook County Jail, Chicago Transit Authority, senior citizen facilities, police officers and firefighters, and Chicago residents during the pandemic.
He's also given millions to churches and individuals who lost their job.
Wilson's business ventures and community giveaways has helped him become one of the most notable Black philanthropists on the South Side of Chicago.
"Dr. Wilson - deserves a Humanitarian, Philanthropist Awards etc., and every other Good Samaritan accolades," a Facebook user commented on Wilson's post. "Dr. Wilson is in a league of his own!! Thank you, Dr. Wilson!"
